Volunteer

If you're interested in learning about renewable energy and how to do the renewable energy calculations and/or you're interested in learning about website development, but have little to no experience, we may be able to help.

All the information on our website and all of our advice to homeowners and business owners has been by volunteering our time. We're looking for a few more volunteers to work with us to provide free assistance to homeowners and business owners considering their renewable energy options.

Renewable Energy Analysis

We'll show you how to perform detailed energy calculations for wind, solar and geothermal systems for locations throughout the United States. We'll show you how to calculate payback based on current energy costs.

Website Development

If you're interested in learning about website development, we'll show you what we know so you can help update our website with the latest information. We use the Joomla open source Content Management System to manage our web site and web content. We had no experience with managing our own website when we started this website, so this has been quite a learning experience. If we can do it, anybody can. We know we're only at the beginner's level of taking full advantage of the power of Joomla and you could learn right along with us. Compensation

Currently our website is not generating any income. So we don't have much to offer to you other than the learning experience and a free subscription to Home Power magazine. This magazine shows the practical side of what it takes to own and operate small renewable energy systems and has proven to be an invaluable resource for every member of our company. When we do start generating income through advertising fees and selling renewable energy credits, our goal is use one-half of all those fees to provide very low interest loans (30+ year loans) to homeowners and business owners who want an affordable renewable energy system. The remainder of the fees received will then be used to cover our expenses, including the expenses of our volunteers. Any profits after expenses will be shared with volunteers.

Qualifications:

If you have a strong desire to learn about renewable energy and/or website development and have 1 to 4 hours of spare time per week, we'd love to talk to you. An ideal volunteer will meet all of the following requirements:

1. Access to a computer (and the ability to use it)

2. Internet access (high speed is desirable but not required)

3. Have the ability to understand energy concepts

4. Have the willingness to learn

5. Have the willingness to help others learn about renewable energy

6. Live within easy commute of the Portsmouth, NH area (not mandatory)

Persons with limited mobility who meet the above requirements are highly encouraged to volunteer. We'll setup all volunteers with their own company email address and access to our website. Volunteers will do most of their work on their own computer at their home, dorm or office. We'll meet as often as needed to discuss renewable energy and website development. And we'll meet routinely to discuss the latest developments in renewable energy and the latest financial incentives available to homeowners and business owners.
